What you will see
- Header bar on every page. A persistent affiliate disclosure, plus a link back here.
- #ad on every CTA. Buttons name the partner (Viator, GetYourGuide, Booking.com) and use
rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer". - A pause on go.html. The interstitial says you are leaving Ridge on a sponsored link, then opens a public search URL. Partner IDs can be added later without rewriting place cards.
What we do not sell
- No private residences. The map is public hotels, park visitor areas, restaurants, tasting rooms, and ticketed stops — never a house or residential street address for sale.
- No invented coupons. We do not publish fake merchant codes or “secret deals.”
- No fake park tickets. Great Smoky Mountains National Park entry is free. Those CTAs search guided tours and nearby lodging only.
- No re-hosted clips. We never download, scrape, mirror, or store third-party TikTok / Instagram (or similar) files — even with a creator tag. Tagging is not a license to copy the video.
Clips & privacy
Clips play on the Ridge screen through official TikTok / Instagram embeds. TikTok uses the published blockquote.tiktok-embed + embed.js player (not a muted player/v1 lock). The video file never sits on Ridge’s host — it streams from the platform CDN. We still never download, scrape, mirror, or re-host those files. Tagging a creator is not a license to copy the video.
- In-page official embeds (preferred). TikTok
blockquote.tiktok-embed+https://www.tiktok.com/embed.js, or Instagram embed iframes, with a visible @creator credit. On iPhone, tap play for sound in that player. That is how a clip plays live on Ridge. - Outbound Watch links (fallback only). If a public post has no embed URL, we link “Watch on TikTok” / “Watch on Instagram.” We do not invent an embed or steal the file.
- Own or written-license footage. Native
<video>only for footage Ridge shot or holds in writing — never a scraped social download.
